IS CBD LEGAL?
Yes, in All 50 States of America. Building upon the 2014 Farm Bill, through the federal regulation within Section 7606 of the Agricultural Act, the 2018 Farm Bill expands this legality. On December 20th, 2018, The President signed the 2018 Farm Bill.
For decades, hemp (and CBD oil) had been listed as a Controlled Substance, combining it alongside marijuana and other intoxicating substances. However, moving forward, hemp will be placed under the supervision of the Department of Agriculture and thus will now be an agricultural commodity moving forward, like corn or soy beans.
WHAT EXACTLY IS CBD OIL AND WHAT IS ITS MAKE UP?
CBD Oil is the residue that is extracted from the Hemp plant when it is processed.
CBD oil contains up to 20 amino acids including the nine essential ones. Essential fatty acids such as Omega 3 & 6, which helps promote heart health. Hemp oil is even a good source of protein which helps repair and build tissues.
If you want more you got it! CBD oil also contains vitamins A, C, & E along with complex B vitamins such as niacin, riboflavin, and thiamine. Many people are beta-carotene deficient, but it is abundant in CBD oil. Vital minerals contained in this oil include iron, calcium, zinc, potassium, and phosphorus.
CBD is a Phytocannabinoid first discovered by Richard Adams in 1940. It is one of some 113+ identified phytocannabinoids extracted from the hemp plant, accounting for up to 40% of the plant’s extract. As of 2020 preliminary research on Cannabidiol (CBD) included studies on Mood, Mental, Movement, and Discomfort Issues.
HOW MUCH CBD SHOULD I TAKE?
Every person’s body and health condition are unique. It is difficult to set a predetermined dosage that is right for everyone. For severe symptoms, a higher dose may be required while mild symptoms you won’t need as much. We recommend a consultation with your doctor or health professional to determine the amount right for you.
We suggest to start with a small dosage, then if no benefits. Simply, add another dose or two, wait a few days and so on. It will take some people a few weeks to get their correct dosage. It all depends on what you are using CBD for.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO FEEL THE EFFECTS OF CBD?
The effects can usually take up to 30 minutes depending on the dosage and method of delivery. A significant decrease in symptoms, reduced pain, calming sense, etc. should be noticeable.
WILL CBD CURE MY DISEASE OR CONDITION?
MD Organics does not make any medical claims. CBD has not been approved by the FDA for the treatment of any conditions besides a few particular seizure disorders. Nevertheless, there have been numerous studies from all over the world which suggest CBD may be an effective therapy for a wide range of health issues. WHAT IS THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM?
The Endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a component of the human nervous system. This mainly consists of the two receptors CB1 and CB2.
These receptors are responsible for the secretion and transportation of vital messenger substances (neurotransmitters) and are located in Humans and Animals. The ECS affects many different body systems including but not limited to mood, sleep, pain sensation, stress, appetite, and memory.
HOW WILL CBD AFFECT MY BODY?
CBD affects the body by triggering the CB1 and CB2 receptors of the Endocannabinoid system within your brain and nervous system. These receptors regulate various body parts and systems. Results may vary based on your purpose.
WHAT/WHERE ARE THE CB1 & CB2 RECEPTORS?
The CB1 receptor is responsible for the interconnectedness of our nervous system, but also for the regulation of our sense of pain. This receptor is also responsible for our addictive behavior and the suppression of bad memories. It is located mainly in the Brain and Intestines. To a lesser degree in the Lungs, Vascular System, Muscles, Reproductive Organs, Immune System, Liver, Kidneys, Bone Marrow, and Pancreas.
The CB2 receptor, on the other hand, has its main function in controlling our immune system. Also located in the Spleen, Bones, Skin, Liver, Bone Marrow, and Pancreas. Thus, both receptors are vital building blocks in our complex nervous system.
CBD works by interacting indirectly or directly with the two receptors CB1 and CB2. As a result, it can simultaneously have anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory and also calming properties. All of this happens without intoxication, as CBD is one of the non-psychoactive constituents of the cannabis plant.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OF CBD?
CBD is not known to have any major side effects. The few minor side effects that have been reported have been mild at best. Nowhere near as relevant as those side effects from pharmaceutical medicines that are approved by the FDA. The most that some CBD users have reported is minor abdominal discomfort or drowsiness if ingesting large amounts of CBD.
A few users have been reported to have a drop in blood pressure after taking CBD, but quickly recover. It is not known if these people were on high blood pressure medication or other medications. Again, there’s no “high” effect or psychoactive properties with CBD, so no worries about your ability to perform day-to-day duties. We would only caution to not use large amounts if you are taking in the morning and want to be active.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO TAKE TOO MUCH CBD AT ONE TIME?
There have been no reports of any deadly or lethal doses of CBD.
Dosages will vary from person to person. Some cases may only need a little dosage while others may require higher intakes – it depends on which symptoms you’re trying to relieve.
Typically, if you take too much you might get drowsy and want to take a nap.
HEMP PLANTS VS. FROM MARIJUANA PLANTS?
Hemp and marijuana essentially come from the same plant family, Cannabis Sativa, but are more like distant cousins. The CBD and THC levels of both plants are total opposites, growing and harvesting conditions are completely different.
The main difference between the two is their level of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – the illegal, psychotropic phytocannabinoid. According to the Agricultural Act of 2014, the Obama Administration describes legal hemp plants as containing less than 0.3% THC which also makes phytocannabinoids extracted from hemp, such as Cannabidiol (CBD), legal as well. At MD Organics we strain out even the slightest amounts of THC, which make all of our products THC-Free.
WILL I NEED A DOCTOR’S PRESCRIPTION TO USE MD ORGANICS PRODUCTS?
NO! MD Organics legally operates in full accordance with the Federal Hemp Laws of 2014 and Farm Bill of 2018. Our products are categorized under Hemp dietary supplements which are legal to be purchased and sold anywhere in the United States. Moreover, Hemp CBD containing 0.3% or less of THC is legal in most countries. See More Here.
WILL USING CBD OIL SHOW UP ON A DRUG TEST?
Confirmed by our In House and Independent Lab reports, All of MD Organics Products are 100% THC FREE. MD Organics Independent lab reports are conducted by one of the industry leading ISO certified cannabis testing sites in America. You should not test positive for THC if the lab testing your blood or urine is an advanced testing lab.
There is a small percentage of a false positive test if you are taking an at home drug test kit purchased at a retail store or online. These amateur kits are not advanced enough to tell the difference between CBD and THC.
If you have take one of these at home kits for whatever reason, and test positive for THC. Immediately go to a local lab testing facility in your area and have them take a urine or blood sample.
This will allow you to show evidence that you did not have THC in your blood. If drug testing is still questionable to you, then we advise you to talk to your employer, coach, or whomever in authority before taking CBD.
WHAT IS FULL SPECTRUM VS. BROAD SPECTRUM EXTRACT?
Essentially, they mean the same thing and are frequently used interchangeably. Full Spectrum or Broad Spectrum extract is processing all of the valuable components from the Hemp plant.
The better companies will filter the tiny amount of THC (0.3%) that is in the Hemp Plant and this is known as Broad Spectrum.
Full Spectrum is the whole plant extracted, but many Brands will not filter out the THC.
Unfortunately many companies use CBD isolate and say its full/broad spectrum and it isn’t. In fact, any product over 2400mg of CBD is using CBD Isolate and not the whole plant. At MD Organics we use broad spectrum extract which ensures that we keep all the valuable compounds that made up the Organic hemp plant, but THC Free!
WHAT INGREDIENTS ARE USED IN MD ORGANICS BROAD EXTRACT CBD OIL?
MD Organics product line utilizes only 100% Organic, All-Natural, USA-Grown industrial hemp from the fields of Colorado. Our Hemp is non-GMO and vegan. Please see our product listing pages for a complete list of other ingredients per
IS THERE AN EXPIRATION DATE FOR CBD PRODUCTS?
With proper storage, we guarantee up to 18-24 months for our CBD products. CBD itself does not expire, but the other components of the products can degrade over time.
WHAT MAKES AMERICAN HEMP SO MUCH BETTER?
Growing standards in other countries are not as high as those set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, meaning CBD oils from other parts of the world could come with chemicals you don’t want to consume, especially in Asia and Europe. There is no question the best Hemp Plants are grown here in America.
They are subject to higher quality controls, including limiting exposure to pesticides and better growth quality. Coming from a domestic farm, plants grown for CBD oil extraction have a higher concentration of Cannabinoids than those brought in from other parts of the world. Our sole source of 100% Organic Hemp comes from Colorado.
WHAT ARE FLAVONOIDS?
Flavonoids are compounds in plants which give plants their pigmentation (color), filter out UV rays, attract pollinators, and prevent plant diseases. There are about 20 flavonoids in cannabis.
Flavonoids are important because they have shown to have beneficial effects such as: anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-allergic activity.
Quercetin, Apigenin, and Cannaflavin A are three flavonoids found in cannabis. Cannaflavin A is uniquely found in cannabis and is a strong anti-inflammatory.
Apigenin is also found in celery, chamomile tea, and parsley. Apigenin has anti-anxiety and anti-inflammatory properties. Quercetin is also found in green tea, berries, and red wine. Quercetin acts as an anti-oxidant, anti-viral, and anti-cancer agent.
WHAT ARE TERPENES?
Terpenes are chemicals that give the cannabis plant its unique scent. Even in tiny amounts, terpenes work extremely well with cannabinoids to heal the body. Here are some well-known terpenes:
Limonene: This stress reliever also helps boost your mood. You can even rely on it to assist with gastric flux issues. Pinene: It could potentially improve your memory and boost alertness. It is also anti-inflammatory. Linalool: This has a sedative effect and works to help patients with depression, insomnia, and stress. Caryophyllene: This terpene is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that helps relieve the symptoms of pain. It is also useful against insomnia. Humulene: This is another pain-relieving terpene which has antibacterial properties and also works as an appetite suppressant.

WHICH EXTRACTION METHOD IS BEST ETHANOL OR CO2?
Ethanol molecules have polar and nonpolar ends, making them able to bond with different kinds of molecules on either side. That means that while ethanol draws cannabinoids and terpenes out of the plants, it also brings other valuable components along.
There are aldahydes, ketones, ethyls, esthers, and a range of other chemicals that make up the full spectrum of beneficial compounds in cannabis. Because of the dual role ethanol plays as a solvent, it is capable of extracting the whole of the plant better than any CO2 or hydrocarbon technique.
In fact, a study published by Planta Medica in early 2018 found that CO2 extraction drastically changed the chemical composition of cannabis strains. Compared with dried flower, CO2 extracts eliminated many of the subtle flavor and aroma molecules that provide nuance and subtlety to the experiential effects of different cultivars.
Because of this CO2 extraction methods will still use ethanol during the process. So it is a bit of a misnomer. Also, CO2 extraction methods depends on the skill of the person doing it.
More importantly, Ethanol Extraction is not only less of a drain on economic resources, but is safer when it comes to lab safety than combustible CO2. Ethanol is one of the best and safest for drawing out the aromas, subtle flavors, and synergistic compounds that are what make up the cannabis plant.
These compounds work with one another to amplify the beneficial compounds of hemp extracts and CBD.
For these reasons, MD Organics believe that the ethanol extraction is the best for those hoping to use CBD oil for wellness and health purposes. If you still have any other questions don’t hesitate to send an email, we are here to Help and Serve!
