WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?

Acupuncture is a form of Alternative Medicine having roots in Traditional Eastern/Chinese Medicine. The practice involves the use of thin stainless steel needles gently inserted into the surface of the skin at specific points on the body. There are approximately 2,000 Acupuncture points on the human body, and these are connected by pathways or “meridians”. A meridian or invisible channel of points is connected to a specific organ or body part.

Originally, Acupuncture originated from Traditional Chinese Medicine, and has been around for thousands of years. Of course, Western Societies are just starting to understand these concepts. Unlike Western Medicine which is reactive in its approach, providing largely band aid remedies so you can be a repeat customer. Eastern Medicine tries to solve the root of the issue or proactive healing.

Like Acupressure, Acupuncture is based on restoring the flow of QI (body’s life energy or Vital Life Force, Chee), to relieve blockages, stimulate healing and provide relaxation. Most people seek Acupuncture for Pain and Stress relief, but it can help treat a variety of other issues.

HOW DOES ACUPUNCTURE WORK?

There are many theories on how Acupuncture works. Suffice to say that what most believe is that it works by stimulating the body’s own endorphins (feel good chemicals) to relieve pain and/or stress levels.

Further, it is believed that Acupuncture helps your body’s Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). This system regulates your bodily functions, such as heart and respiratory rate, urination, sexual and flight/fight responses.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A typical session will involve a complete health history of the patient and lifestyle habits. In addition, the Acupuncturist will examine your appearance and usually your tongue color and coating. Also, they will likely take your pulse rate on each wrist. In Chinese Medicine your tongue and pulse are indicators of the health of your organs and meridians.

A patient will typically lay on a padded table and the use of 10-20 thin needles will be inserted along a specific meridian or trigger points in the location of what your hoping achieve; i.e. back, shoulders, face, etc. Most times the needles will be inserted using a plastic hollow tube for better accuracy. You may feel a subtle pinch or ache.

Once inserted the needles may be flicked, twisted, heated or a mild electric current may be applied to the needles in order to achieve the desired result. Further, a typical session with the needles inserted will last from around 10-30 minutes. All you do is lay there and relax. After the procedure the needles are gently removed and you are done.

After the session many users report a deep relax state, while others report feeling energized. More importantly, like anything in life, acupuncture doesn’t work for everyone, if you don’t feel results after a few weeks then it is likely this treatment is not for you.

CAN CBD HELP?

CBD Oil is a great combination with treatments of acupuncture. As with many therapies, many users combine different treatments and supplements for the greatest possible outcome.

Like the goal of Acupuncture, which is to essentially help the body fix itself. CBD is designed in the same fashion. By using this natural hemp based supplement which works using your Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which is made up of receptor sites. These receptors are found all throughout your body, including your organs, and skin.

More Importantly, CBD helps activate or inhibit other compounds and receptors. For Example, you have a pain in your knee, you take CBD and it reaches that specific receptor site and blocks or disrupts that pain signal. Again, CBD promotes your own body processes to function at optimal levels, like it did when you were young.

In addition to CBD, the hemp plant is loaded full of vitamins and minerals as well as all the amino acids, so it is not a synthetic drug that might rob you of other nutrients, as well as damaging your liver over time. Essentially, it is like a multivitamin with added benefits from nature.

CONCLUSION:

Overall, we have to take our own health and well-being seriously. You have to be the one to take control of your fate. With the unprecedented educational resources we all have at our fingertips nowadays, we should all be on a path of life long learning.

If you do not have your health, then you have nothing. Everything originates from health, and everything is connected in life. We should know by now that Western Medicine has become a business. Your Doctor does not care about you, you are a customer. In America today, most “Medical” institutions are just legal drug dealers, and if you stay sick or with issues, then you are going to return and their Drug stocks keep going up.

So Wake Up Skippy! Take control of your life and your health. Acupuncture and/or CBD might not work for you, but if you are tired of the typical western idea of health, then it is worth a shot.
